The Great Wall

Our University (China Foreign Affairs University) took us on an outing to The Wall at Mutianyu (one of our favorite sections) last Saturday. It was a beautiful day and the sky was the bluest we have seen it since we have been here. Also, there were actually some autumn colors to enjoy.
I really liked the looks of this local sweeper in the guard tower up on the top.
But, maybe he put this one out of work?
It was a great excursion (sponsored by our waiban) for the foreign faculty. When we returned, we were treated to a meal with lots of dumplings at a restaurant near our campus.

Great pictures. This might be one of the only ones I’ve seen of anyone in our family not extremely bundled up on the Wall.

Sounds fun! Where are the rules? BTW…we could get into your and Kristy’s blog for about two days…we thought the ban on ‘blogs’ in China had been lifted…but NO…it is back again and we are blocked! But, we were able to see and comment at least once. ???? We can see your posts through our ‘secret’ route, but not the comments now.

well, i say you just keep on trying, you never know…TIC remember….
the wall looks good, as do you both. i would love to figure out how to get over there once more, we shall see. i’d love to come with tainui.
i hope that things calmed down, or will calm down soon. mom, don’t overdo things. supposed to be fun too, remember. i hope that the programs were easily figured out and that you got to go on the dedication spot outing too. well, take care and keep on posting…yeah, i know, i should talk. must get back to it soon.

Ah ha…now the pressure is on! Only problem is…I have an ‘infection’ on my machine, so I’m not on the Internet as much as I would like (and then only for short times)…along with starting my two new classes this week. I am working with CyberTech that Joe told me about to fix it. It is tedious and my brain hurts with trying to figure it all out. But, Dad says ‘I am smart and can do it…he has faith in me.’ I am waiting for a reply to a question before I do the next so-involved steps. aaauuuggghhh…where are my kids when I need them, I ask. Oh, yes, back home in the good ol’ USA.
But, I know…excuses, excuses, excuses. I shall have to “do that little thing” and then also get Dad to do it.
