Paul Bunyan in Morgan Hill

I was able to go with Dad to Morgan Hill where he was desperately trying to be a modern-day Paul Bunyan.  As you can see in the two attached photos, I ended up being THE ASSISTANT PAUL BUNYAN!  Seriously, we were able to accomplish what we needed to do, as the trees decided to die on us and Dad had a quote of $800 to $1,000 to have the four trees taken out.

We felled, cut up, and stacked three of them in parts of three days and met the new tenants as well.  They have four kids and one on the way and it was great to see children exploring and hear the sound of children’s laughter on ‘Grandpa’s farm’ once again.  We are quite happy with them and they are excited about the place–at least for now.

This is the last and largest of the three along the back fence that we took down.

This is the largest stump (middle tree).  We actually left the log for the kids to play on (two boys that will love it).

Yup! Yup! Yup! & Do You See the Frog?

Yup…those of you who guessed…it was Grandpa Mallea who said, “You can’t prove it by me.”  His way of getting out of an answer or a bit of humility, mixed with humor, I suppose.  How many of you remember hearing him say:  “Yooouuu behhhhhhtcha,” which was coined into our family, especially with Dad, James and Jon, I think.

Since I am still figuring this blog-thing out…I am going to try to post another Morgan Hill picture of the dining room.  I don’t think some of you saw it after the new back doors were put in.  ??  Look closely…do you see the frog?diningroom.jpg
